
Amy Hamilton was named as the new group chief nursing officer (CNO) for the Detroit Medical Center. Her appointment is effective immediately and she will continue in her role as CNO for DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.
Since March of this year Hamilton has served as interim group CNO for the DMC. She joined the organization in 2019 as the administrative inpatient nursing director at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, and in January of 2021 she became the CNO at HVSH. Hamilton brings with her leadership skills and clinical experience.
Her priorities will include recruitment/retention, a commitment to employees, and striving for consistency among sites and to work to provide the safest and highest quality patient care. Hamilton will also focus on improving relationships with nursing schools to improve nursing education and create opportunities at the DMC for graduating nurses.
Hamilton earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at Oakland University, and her master’s in nursing from the University of Phoenix.
