Breadless, which has locations in Detroit and Rochester Hills, was founded in 2022 by Marc Howland, LaTresha (LC) Howland, and Ryan Eli Salter to offer low-carb, 100 percent gluten-free dishes.
“We want to provide a home for those struggling to find suitable menu options and change societal views on food choices by making nutritious Breadless meals accessible to everyone,” says Marc Howland, whose vision Breadless is. “Our approach reimagines traditional dining with chef-crafted sandwiches wrapped in nutrient-rich leafy greens, along with a variety of salads and rice bowls. This creates a new menu category that combines great flavor with nutrition, ensuring every bite is both delicious and healthy, promoting a better lifestyle.”
Breadless, which started as a popup before opening its first brick and mortar location at 2760 E. Larned St. in Detroit, has served its food at Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena through partnerships with Ilitch Cos. and TechTown Detroit.
“A crowd-pleaser at Comerica Park was the eatery’s Detroit Oyster Club, a sandwich with Swiss chard and roasted portobello oyster mushrooms, arugula balsamic tomatoes and onions, wrapped in a leafy green,” Howland reports.
Among the company’s goals are providing a selection of low-carb, gluten-free, and nutrient-packed meals, redefining the traditional concept of sandwiches and dining, making nutritious and tasty options accessible to a wider audience, and prioritizing sourcing local ingredients, fostering a healthier and more inclusive approach to eating.
