Pointe Angels, an angel investment club based in Grosse Pointe, had its most successful quarter in its five-year history in Q1 2024, investing more than $900,000 in six startups during the period.
Club officials say the investments, which fuel the growth and innovation of the startups, reflect the organization’s dedication to nurturing groundbreaking ideas and technologies that lead to substantial investment returns.
The six startups span a variety of industries as part of Pointe Angels’ diverse investment strategy and commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Focusing on pre-seed and seed-stage funding, Pointe Angels provides early-stage capital — along with guidance, connections, and resources — to support startups when they need it most.
In Q1 2024, Pointe Angels invested in:
- Avana Health — In-clinic treatment to stop abnormal uterine bleeding.
- Electric Fish — Containerized power station with fast EV charging.
- Life Magnetics — Carbon nanoparticle-based diagnostic assays.
- M3D Imaging — Intra-operative radiation camera for cancer surgery.
- Nanotherm — Advanced electro-thermal coatings and heating panels.
- VERN AI — Emotional intelligence software for chatbots and CSRs.
