Royal Oak Recycling has named Ed Mamou as president and Craig Reeves as vice president, with both leaders bringing a combined 30 years’ experience with the company, and 50 collective years of industry experience to their new positions.
Mamou was formerly the vice president and Reeves served as director of sales and operations.
Under Mamou’s leadership as vice president, he and his team increased sales by more than 50 percent, expanded the company from three to 10 markets nationally, and created more than 200 new jobs. He spearheaded the implementation of a new national plastic and electronics recycling program in 2006, a companywide rebranding in 2007, and managed the sale of one of the firm’s key sites to private equity in 2013, maintaining and growing the business while adhering to local, federal, and international rules and regulations in multiple fields.
“Royal Oak Recycling is one of the largest independent recyclers in the US providing landfill-free solutions to its national customer base,” says Mamou. “Established as a family business in 1991, we continue to provide personal service to our national customer base while maintaining our core family values.”
Formerly known as Royal Oak Waste Paper & Metal Co. and acquired in 1992 by Ed’s father, Habib Mamou, owner and former president of the company, Royal Oak Recycling is an immigrant-owned and family-owned full-service leading national recycling provider that provides customized, turnkey waste management solutions in real time to its host of marquee customers across the nation.
A 15-year industry veteran, Reeves joined Royal Oak Recycling in 2014, serving seven years as the director of sales and operations, playing a critical role in introducing and fostering longstanding key customer relationships and expanding the business’ growing national footprint into new marketplaces. Overseeing operations from several geographic locations across the United States, Reeve’s expertise has been critical to the hands-on, real-time, and customer-focused approach of Royal Oak Recycling.
“As a company that has proven to be a reliable partner for each and every one of its clients from day one, we are confident that our growth in numbers and companywide success has only just begun,” says Reeves. “The relationships we have with our trusted customers are and always have been our top priority.”
In fewer than 10 years under Mamou and Reeves’ leadership, Royal Oak Recycling has grown its employee count from 30 to 250 employees, increased total sales by 300 percent, and expanded its service area locations from three to 10 markets throughout Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
