Northville Parks and Recreations appoints New Director

The city of Northville has appointed Mark Gasche as the new director of Parks and Recreation.

As director, he will be in charge of 12 parks; fields for baseball, softball, soccer,and lacrosse; two dog parks; various pavilions and tennis courts; a Recreation Center, and a Community Center, which houses the Northville Senior Center. He will be leading a staff of six full-time and more than 50 part-time employees.

Gasche, of Pittsfield Township, is a 33-year veteran of community parks and recreation departments in New York, Indiana, and Michigan. He has held board positions in several professional organizations including Kiwanis Club and United Way.

He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. He is also a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through mParks.
