The Platform names Clarke Lewis as New President

Detroit-based real estate development company, The Platform, promoted Clarke Lewis to the position of president. Lewis, who joined The Platform in 2016, most recently served as vice president of development and principal broker.

Detroit-based real estate development company, The Platform, promoted Clarke Lewis to the position of president. Lewis, who joined The Platform in 2016, most recently served as vice president of development and principal broker.

In his new role, Clarke will oversee all aspects of development including acquisitions, entitlements, construction, leasing, and asset management. He will continue to report to Peter Cummings, executive chair, who founded The Platform in 2016.

“Clarke has demonstrated his ability to lead complex transactions and deliver successful projects with longstanding benefit to the surrounding community,” says Cummings. “Clarke understands Detroit’s unique character and development climate and is well positioned to help guide the company forward.”

Lewis was involved in the partnership with the Michigan State University endowment on the Fisher Building and Piquette Flats projects and will lead future development surrounding the Fisher.

Since joining The Platform, Lewis has been involved in due diligence, entitlements, architecture and engineering, contract and lease negotiations, asset management, investor relations, and financial analysis.

Clarke Lewis earned a master of architecture and graduate certificate in real estate dDevelopment from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Lewis also teaches a real estate development class at the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit.
