The Northwood University board of trustees has approved the nomination of Robert Jamerson to a three-year term on the board. His term began April 1.
“Robert’s willingness to serve is an inspiration,” says Kent MacDonald, president of Northwood. “We are fortunate to work with a dedicated group of board volunteers, including Robert Jamerson, who help advance the mission of Northwood University.”
Jamerson is CEO of the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). He spent more than 20 years working for corporations such as Pfizer before joining the nonprofit sector. He has held leadership positions in sales, management, marketing, operations, and training.
He was recently selected as a Community Pack Hero for his commitment to community involvement.
Jamerson is an alumnus of the Midland-based private college, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. During his senior season in football, he was named to the first team for All-GLIAC honors.
He returned to Northwood for his Master of Business Administration, graduating from the DeVos Graduate School of Management in 2014. Before Northwood, he attended St. Martin de Porres High School in Detroit.
