The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), a trade association of over 1,300 attorneys, has announced attorney Stuart Sklar as its 70th president.

Joining MAJ in 1991 and serving as an officer for four years, Sklar began his one-year term June 1 and will finish May 31, 2023.

“It is my distinct pleasure to lead MAJ and its members and serve as the 70th president of our organization,” says Sklar. “MAJ has been a constant in my legal career for over 30 years, and I’m honored to serve in this elevated capacity and to offer my experience as a resource to move this great organization forward.”

Sklar brings a significant amount of experience to MAJ as he is a managing shareholder at Fabian, Sklar, King & Liss, in Farmington Hills. His firm represents homeowners, business owners, and other policyholders in property insurance claims against their insurance companies as well as victims and the families of victims who have been injured or killed in fires and explosions.

“Trial lawyers are dedicated to their profession,” says Sklar. “MAJ members not only bring extremely important issues to light, but also provide a confident voice to those who would otherwise be overlooked. It’s a great pleasure to work with these talented professionals on a daily basis.”

Sklar earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law in 1985. He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and American Association for Justice.

“We are thrilled to have Stuart as our 70th president,” says Steve Pontoni, executive director for MAJ. “He is devoted to his profession, a highly regarded attorney who is committed to our organization and is dedicated to fighting for the rights of his clients. We know Stuart will accomplish incredible things for our organization during his tenure.”

MAJ attorneys represent individuals in injury, employment, civil rights, and criminal matters.
