Folktellers Studios, a storytelling media platform based in Detroit, announced the addition of industry veteran Susan Weatherhead as its new director of corporate partnerships.
In her new role, Weatherhead will manage the growth of corporate sponsors and partners, aligning Folktellers’ expansion of both the educational and entertainment markets.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to join the Folktellers’ movement to help make a positive, meaningful impact in the lives of children, parents, and educators,” says Weatherhead. “Now, more than ever, students are looking for fun, creative outlets and our storytelling program is specifically designed to inspire even the most reluctant readers.”
Known as an intuitive, strategic architect who aligns world-class programs with global partners, Weatherhead brings more than 20 years of experience to Folktellers. This included her work with Pepsi-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Pier 1 Imports, the U.S. Navy, Kroger, Michelin, Conoco, Carhartt, La-Z-Boy, Ally, and many others.
Weatherhead’s entrepreneurial career spans the gamut between account, creative, brand planning and leadership roles. From owning and running small PR and marketing firms to spearheading business development efforts for one of the nation’s largest advertising agencies, Weatherhead offers depth and breadth of understanding across the ever-changing communications landscape.
“The addition of Susan to our team represents one of the final pieces of the puzzle for us,” says Stephen Sadler, Folktellers Studios partner. “We now have everything in place to accelerate the development and production of multiple projects simultaneously.”
