Douglas Apple Named New Chief Clinical Officer at Ascension Michigan

Warren-based Ascension Michigan has announced its new Chief Clinical Officer (CCF), Douglas Apple, MD. As CCF, Apple will be responsible for continuing and improving the operations of the company’s clinical market.

Apple’s experience in the clinical market includes Secours Mental Health where he also served as CCF. He also worked at Spectrum Health where he was chief medical officer as well as senior vice president.

“I look forward to continuing to champion Ascension Michigan’s focus on the quadruple aim,” says Dr. Apple. “Striving for the best possible patient outcomes, while providing an enhanced experience for the people we serve, as well as our providers, at an affordable cost, will help ensure we are able to continue to fulfill our Mission of caring for those most in need for generations to come. I am grateful for the opportunity.”

Apple attended the Saba School of Medicine in Netherlands where he received his medical degree. He has also received his Master’s in Science in healthcare Management from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science of Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University.
