Brown & Brown Announces Promotions, Adds Staff

Steve Hettrick was promoted to leader of the employee benefits division and Amy LoPiccolo was promoted to operations manager of the employee benefits department at Brown & Brown of Detroit, an insurance firm based in Sterling Heights. In addition, Julia Pridemore has joined the department as an account manager.

Previously an employee benefits producer, Hettrick will continue to work with new clients and generate new business while also taking on his new leadership role. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Hettrick will guide the department’s big-picture strategy. Before Brown & Brown, he was the director of marketing for CAM Administrative Services.

Hettrick, of Washington Township, earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University. He possesses his Licensed Insurance Counselor designation.

LoPiccolo, of St. Clair Shores, has worked as an account manager since 2012 and has has nearly 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. She will  focus on compliance issues, recruiting, and teammate enhancement, while still overseeing service delivery to clients.

Prior to joining Brown & Brown, LoPiccolo worked at Agent Benefits Corp. as a senior agent consultant. She holds her Michigan license in Accident, Health, and Life Insurance.

Pridemore will help clients manage their group benefit programs. Previously, she worked as a consultant for Hub International, where she managed the accounts of large groups. She will be pursuing her Michigan Accident, Health & Life Insurance license.

Pridemore, of Sterling Heights, earned her Bachelor of Arts in communications from Oakland University.
