Amherst Partners, a middle-market investment bank based in Birmingham, has promoted John Wendzinski to the role of senior associate.

Wendzinski joined Amherst as an analyst in May 2019. In his new position, he will take a lead role in analyzing and evaluating new business opportunities, managing both internal and client-facing communications and activities related to the transaction process, and developing presentation materials and engagement deliverables related to Amherst’s merger and acquisition assignments.

Prior to joining Amherst, he previously held positions in the commercial lending group at JPMorgan Chase and the corporate development group at Amerisource Industrial Supply.

“We certainly knew John had a great background and we had high expectations when he joined the firm, and we have not been disappointed,” says Don Luciani, leader of the investment banking practice.

“He has distinguished himself in serving clients, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to Amherst’s business development and engagement execution activities. We are delighted with his professional development and to have him positioned to continue to participate in our firm’s growth.”

Wendzinski has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
