HYPE Athletics is a nonprofit organization that has two locations – one in Dearborn Heights and one in Wayne. The organization was established in 2001 and focuses on providing communities with drug-free, violence-free, and fun athletic events and programs for kids and adults. It offers a variety of sports, fitness classes and group training sessions, academic assistance, and social services to support the positive development of Wayne County. There are also five different membership packages ranging from $24 a month to $89 a month. Due to COVID-19, HYPE Athletics’ recreation center was previously closed but has now entered into Phase 2, meaning that all members and guests must wear a mask, will be tested for a fever with an instant temperature thermometer, must apply hand sanitizer upon entry, and can only visit for up to two hours at a time. Additionally, day care services have been suspended for the time being.
