The Weathervane Restaurant in Charlevoix has completed a comprehensive renovation that includes new interiors, furnishings, enhancements to the bar, a reconfigured event space, and a redesigned outdoor patio and deck.
Located along the Pine River Channel in downtown Charlevoix, the Weathervane has been open since the mid-1950s. Prior to that, it was a grist mill.
Additional improvements include enhanced lighting throughout the dining room, refreshed décor and finishes, improved guest flow between dining areas, upgraded landscaping surrounding the property, and other operational enhancements.
“The Weathervane is one of northern Michigan’s most recognizable waterfront destinations, shaped by the enduring architectural influence of Earl Young,” says Sam Barnwell, president of The Cotton Collection in Grosse Pointe Farms, which owns the restaurant.
“This renovation is not about reinvention, but refinement. Our goal was to preserve the historic character while introducing thoughtful updates that enhance the guest experience.”
The restaurant, located at 106 Pine River Lane, sits directly on a hill overlooking the Pine River Channel, which connects Lake Charlevoix to Lake Michigan.
Dinner entrees include grilled prime filet mignon, grilled rack of lamb, mussel pot, baked whitefish grenobloise, pan roasted halibut, hanger steak, and more.
