After securing a deal years in the making, General Motors Special Vehicles Manufacturer SCA Performance is now set to begin immediate large-scale production on Ford Motor Co.’s Black Widow and Apex conversion trucks on the F-150 and F-250 platforms.

SCA Performance also has plans for sister company McSweeney Designs to begin product development on offerings for the Ford Transit, to be available this spring.

“As the automotive industry evolves into the future, we are excited to partner with Ford to continue designing and developing innovative specialty vehicles for niche markets,” says Matt McSweeney, president of SCA Performance.

SCA is bringing several exclusive features to the Black Widow and Apex model trucks, including a six-inch suspension system, specially branded wheels, brake caliber covers, 35-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires, pocket style fender flares, side steps, stainless steel performance dual exhaust, interior appointments including painted interior trim accents, custom stitched headrests, stainless steel speedometer gauges, and LED ambient lighting. Custom color schemes from SCA’s master painters and an SCA front bumper upgrade are also available.

SCA has always been our go-to choice for custom conversions … now that they can build Ford vehicles out of their own inventory, it is making our life so much easier,” says Mitchell Watts, sales manager and media director of Town and Country Ford, a dealership in Quinnesec, near Iron Mountain.  “This is great news for a great company.”

SCA has been an automotive manufacturer for over 37 years. More information about SCA and Ford can be found here.
