As part of a national expansion, Goldfish Swim School Franchising in Troy has opened a new swim school in Brighton. The company is owned and operated by co-founders Jenny and Chris McCuiston, and President Andrew McCuiston.
The brand is currently prioritizing franchise growth in California, Colorado, Tennessee, and Texas.
The new school in Brighton, located at Green Oak Village Place, serves children aged 4 months through 12 years in a warm, 90-degree indoor pool.
Goldfish Swim School’s play-based Science of SwimPlay curriculum combines guided play with instruction from trained team members. Small class sizes, including a 4-1 student-teacher ratio in many classes, give children personalized support to build on their safety skills and make meaningful progress with every lesson.
This swim school is operated daily by General Manager Katie MacCulley and Assistant General Manager Nikki Wattles. The opening coincides with Goldfish Swim School’s 20th anniversary. Overall, Goldfish has more than 200 locations across North America, including 13 locations in Michigan.

To celebrate the new location, Goldfish Swim School – Brighton will host a grand opening party on Sept. 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The free public event will feature two hours of open pool time, face painting, a balloon artist, refreshments, an appearance by the Goldfish Swim School mascot, Bubbles, Kona Ice, raffles to win one month of free swim lessons, and more.
