Premier Pet Supply in Beverly Hills, a family-owned, independent pet specialty retailer, and The 4 Paws Market in Waterford Township, have jointly announced a transition of ownership.
In June, Premier Pet Supply assumed operations of The 4 Paws Market at 7168 Highland Road. As a result, Premier Pet Supply now operates 15 stores across metro Detroit. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Moving ahead, Premier Pet Supply will be expanding the Waterford Township store to 6,400 square feet from 3,200 square feet. When completed in September, customers will have access to a larger inventory, lower prices on select brands and items, and additional in-store customer and pet events, according to the company.
As part of the agreement, Premier Pet Supply has retained all current employees of The 4 Paws Market. The ownership transition represents a collaborative agreement between two locally owned businesses that share a commitment to animal wellness, customer service, and community involvement.
The 4 Paws Market team’s specialized training in holistic pet nutrition will be maintained, supported, and enhanced by Premier Pet Supply’s regional resources, according to officials.
“We greatly respect the community, customer base, and high standard of care The 4 Paws Market team has built over the last 12 years,” says Mike Palmer, owner of Premier Pet Supply. “Our goal is to maintain what makes 4 Paws unique, while introducing the expanded resources Premier Pet Supply has to offer.”
Selena Moore, former owner of The 4 Paws Market, says, “Premier Pet Supply has a strong track record as a committed, customer-centric independent pet retailer in Michigan … and that our shared focus on community support and pet health will continue.”
Founded in 1992, Premier Pet Supply provides “high-quality food, treats, and supplies for all types of companion animals.”
