The 2016 Cadillac CT6 will begin production in Detroit in January, with initial shipments to dealers in March. The vehicle is priced starting at nearly $53,500, and dealers are now taking orders.

“The CT6 is an entirely new approach to prestige luxury, adding driving dynamics and technology while reducing the bulk of traditional large sedans,” says Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac.

Nysschen says the CT6 offers three engine choices: a two-liter turbo engine version priced at $53,500; a 3.6-liter V6 engine with all-wheel drive that costs about $55,500; and a three-liter twin turbo V6 engine with all-wheel drive that starts at $64,400.

He says the three-liter engine is rated at 400 horsepower and 400 pounds per feet of torque. An all-new 335-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine is also available, along with a two-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. All engines are paired with eight-speed automatic transmissions.

The vehicle has a rear camera mirror, enhanced night vision technology, a 34-speaker audio system, and active rear steering. The CT6 will also be available with plug-in hybrid electric technology.

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 will be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. Last April, Cadillac auctioned off the first retail production CT6 to benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
