Variety Detroit Announces Lois Shaevsky as Board of Directors President

Variety Children’s Charity of Detroit, has named Lois Shaevsky as president of its board of directors. Shaevsky has served Variety-Detroit for more than 30 years including working as co-chair of signature events and leadership roles on program advisory boards.

“We are thrilled to have Lois as our new board of directors president and believe her tireless commitment to Variety’s mission and our community will continue to be invaluable to the thousands of children Variety serves each year,” says Jennie Cascio, executive director of Variety.

Prior to joining Variety, Shaevsky has served numerous organizations including Beaumont Health Systems as co-chair of the Ministrelli Heart to Heart Luncheon, CARE House of Oakland County, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and the Detroit Historical Society. Currently, Shaevsky serves on the executive committee for the University of Michigan Mary Weiser Food Allergy Center Luncheon and as Franklin Hills Country Club Program co-chair.

Shaevsky was awarded the Pillar of Philanthropy Award during The Community House Bates Street Society Dinner, the George W. Romney Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, The George Riley Award by DPTV, and the first Circle of Hope Award by the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Oakland County.
