Tullymore Offers $15,000 Cash and Lifetime Golf Memberships To Owners Who Build on Lots Within Two Years of Purchase


tSTANWOOD – With a simpler new name, Tullymore Golf Resort, and with 10 months of solid home sales, the mid-Michigan recreational community is launching a new real estate program that it hopes will keep it moving forward in 2012.

tLast May the resort kicked off a unique sales concept in which homeowners traded in hard-to-sell properties for new homes at Tullymore. The resort paid the owners the appraised value of their old homes in return for buying new ones at Tullymore.

t“That program worked out very well,” said Terry Schieber, Tullymore’s chief executive officer. “Since last May we sold 13 homes for more than $5 million and we have only two left in that inventory. We want to keep that momentum going”

tThe new sales program Schieber announced is for building lots priced at $49,000 each, with two major incentives. Each lot comes with a lifetime golf membership valued at $20,000 for play on the Tullymore and St. Ives Golf Clubs. Buyers can further reduce their cash outlay if they build on their lots within two years using Tullymore’s building company for construction.

t“We will give you back $15,000 if you use our building company,” Schieber said. “We’re confident after you see the quality of the homes we have built here, and ones now under construction, you’ll agree this is a heck of a deal.”

tSchieber said there are a few lots available for $89,000 that will also qualify for the golf membership and the terms of the $15,000 refund. He said the resort’s builders are in the process of construction of one new condominium and two customized homes for new buyers.

tIn less than four years of ownership brothers Richard, Robert, and Ronald Marino and their uncle, Peter J. Ministrelli have transformed the two adjoining golf clubs and a 44-suite inn, located south of Big Rapids, into one of the state’s most attractive golf destinations.

tMinistrelli is a major builder of luxurious custom golf community homes in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert, Calif.

tThe developers have invested more than $51 million in new construction and amenities at Tullymore. The dramatic $10 million clubhouse was nationally recognized as one of the country’s best when it opened three years ago. The owners renovated the 44-room inn adjacent to the St. Ives course. The restaurant in the St. Ives clubhouse was remade into a sports bar and grill. Last year, a 10-bedroom lodge designed for golfers or small corporate group retreats was completed near the Tullymore club house.

tTullymore also offers fractional ownership in four luxurious villas that make up the Residence Club. The club is part of the Registry Collection of exclusive vacation properties around the world. Owners of Tullymore units have access to this global network of the finest vacation properties and services.

tSchieber said the resort’s former name that incorporated the names of both golf clubs was confusing for visitors not familiar with the properties.  

tThe Tullymore course was designed by top architect, Jim Engh, of Colorado. It has won numerous national awards and is ranked15th among U.S. public resort courses by Golf Digest magazine. The older St. Ives course, designed by veteran architect Jerry Matthews of Lansing, has also won several awards.
