The Kroger Co. has announced that Troy Harding has been promoted to president of Kroger’s Michigan Division, succeeding Ken DeLuca, who was promoted to president of Kroger’s Fry’s Division.
Harding brings more than 30 years of experience with Kroger, having joined the company in 1993 as a grocery clerk with Fred Meyer, a Portland, Ore.-based superstore chain and part of Kroger’s family of companies. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of leadership roles across multiple Kroger divisions and banner operations, including store operations, retail leadership, and corporate support functions. Most recently, Harding served as vice president of operations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.

The Michigan Division continues to invest in communities across the state, with plans to dedicate $191 million this year towards store expansions, renovations, and remodel projects. Kroger recently opened its 120th store location in Michigan with the debut of a new store in Fenton representing a $28.5 million investment in Genesee County.
Harding holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Portland State University and is a graduate of the University of Southern California Food Industry Management Program. He also has participated in executive development programs through both the University of Southern California and Cornell University.
