The Townsend Hotel Receives TripAdvisor 2019 Certificate of Excellence Award

The Townsend Hotel, located in downtown Birmingham, was recently presented the 2019 Certificate of Excellence Award from TripAdvisor. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the hotel has upheld high ratings from TripAdvisor travelers.

“We very pleased to receive this award,” says Steven Kalczynski, managing director at hotel. “We honor customer feedback in everything we do at The Townsend, and this award acknowledges the great pride our entire staff has in achieving our high set standards for all of our guests.”

The achievement celebrates businesses that are consistently earn great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Recipients include restaurants, accommodations, and attractions worldwide. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews, and must be listed on TripAdvisor for at least one year.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site with 760 million reviews and opinions covering travel listings worldwide. It covers approximately 8.3 million accommodations, airlines, experiences, and restaurants.

This year, the Townsend Hotel is celebrating its 31st anniversary, as well as 30 years in a row of being a AAA Four-Diamond luxury property.

The hotel was ranked among Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Hotels.” It was also named as “Top 20 Best Midwest Hotels” in 2018 by readers of Condé Nast Traveler.

The Rugby Grille, located at the hotel, is a Forbes “Recommended Restaurant” and is also a winner of Wine Spectator’s “Two-Glass” Award.
