The Target Fireworks to Light Up the Detroit Skyline

DETROIT, June 17, 2009  – This summer Detroiters and visitors can take part in one of Detroit’s favorite traditions – the 51st Annual Target Fireworks. The Target Fireworks, choreographed by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, will showcase more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects that can be viewed for miles along the Detroit International Riverfront. The Target Fireworks will start at 10:06 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

The Official VIP Rooftop Party

The Parade Company’s Official VIP Rooftop Party, which offers the best seats in the city to view the fireworks, takes place on Wednesday, June 24 from 6 – 11 p.m. atop the Miller Parking Garage. Benefit tickets are $175 and Children tickets (six and under) are $75. Enjoy entertainment, food, games and activities for children and fun for all including:

  • A meet and greet by Iron Chef Michael Symon, chef and partner of ROAST, one of Detroit’s most notable restaurants
  • City Living – an area of the Rooftop Party dedicated to all wonderful things that take place in downtown Detroit, including a visit by Detroit Lions mascot, Roary
  • The Starry Night Lounge featuring the crowd favorite Dueling Piano bar
  • The Great Outdoors – everything we love about summer in Michigan, from campfires and s’mores to backyard games and make-and-take crafts
  • Music and dancing to the hits of yesterday and today!

The Target Fireworks can be viewed on WDIV-Local 4’s live broadcast beginning at 9 p.m. and News/Talk 760 WJR will do a special radio simulcast throughout the event and provide up to the minute traffic and weather information throughout the day.
