Podium Risk Management, a Southfield-based risk management firm that specializes in helping active and retired athletes, entertainers, c-suite executives, and businesses create long-term financial stability and success, has added Super Bowl Champion Bennie Fowler as a partner.
Fowler played eight years in the NFL and was a member of the 2016 Denver Broncos Super Bowl championship team. Before that, he was a wide receiver for Michigan State University football under coach Mark Dantonio, including being part of the 2013 Spartan men’s football team that won the 100th Rose Bowl.
Fowler will help to provide vision and strategy for the organization and grow Podium’s business utilizing his skills as a personal coach. Podium Risk Management was founded in 2015 by Manuel Amezcua, president and CEO of MassMutual Great Lakes (MMGL), and Desmond Clark, a financial advisor and professional football player who played with the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and Chicago Bears.
“Bennie will be partnering with us on the vision and strategy of the organization. His professional performance skillset, with a focus on strategic and tactical planning to chart and achieve goals, will be a big win for our firm and advisors,” says Amezcua. “The addition of Bennie helps Podium continue to grow in the executive and former athlete space related to risk management. It is a privilege to have Bennie join our team.”
Fowler graduated from MSU in 2013 with a degree in economics. He obtained his professional coaching certification through Co-Active Training Institute and has completed more than 400 hours of coaching using his MVP framework (mindset, vision, and performance).
“I have known Manny for several years — we have similar values and I love the fact that the work we do is all about service,” says Fowler. “Podium is a brand that cares about people.”
