An event featuring Italian film actress Sophia Loren will take place at the Detroit Opera House this fall.
During A Captivating Evening with Sophia Loren, presented by Andiamo Italia and WJR-AM on September 14, Loren will share memories of her life in Italy and her film career, play some of her favorite movie scenes, and engage in a question and answer session with fans.
“Andiamo decided to hold this event because we wanted to give Detroiters the opportunity to see this living legend here in our town,” says Laura Zarro, marketing communications director at Andiamo. “Ms. Loren is only doing a handful of dates in major cities across the country. Andiamo CEO, Joe Vicari, saw this as an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Detroit area fans to have a rare experience with a Hollywood icon.”
Ticket for the event at the Detroit Opera House, located at 1526 Broadway St., range from $29 to $500. The $500 tickets are limited and include a meet-and-greet, seats in the first 10 rows, a champagne and appetizer reception, and VIP parking.
Loren was born in Rome and made her film debut in 1950. She’s appeared in various films, such as “Two Women,” Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” “Marriage Italian Style,” “Houseboat,” and more.
