Gov. Rick Snyder’s press secretary Sara Wurfel will join Truscott Rossman, a public relations firm in Lansing, as vice president for public affairs.
Wurfel, who also has worked as communications director for the Michigan Department of Agriculture under governors John Engler and Jennifer Granholm, joined the Snyder administration in 2011. She served as district communications director for a Mid-Michigan member of Congress and worked for the Michigan House of Representatives.
Previously, Wurfel previously was communications director for AARP Oregon and led public affairs for a Portland, Ore.-based hospital.
Wurfel, of Charlotte, has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Michigan State University and her master’s in strategic communications from the University of Oregon.
