Gouri Sashital is joining the Detroit office of Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management. Gouri joins as a shareholder from Keller Thoma, where she has practiced since 2008, most recently serving as co-managing partner.
With more than two decades of legal experience, Sashital is a highly regarded employment litigator with a stellar record. She represents and advises private and public employers on a broad range of state and federal employment laws and regulations, appearing before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. This includes defending against claimed civil rights violations, wrongful discharge, unlawful retaliation, discrimination, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) violations.
Sashital also is a seasoned labor attorney who serves as chief negotiator during collective bargaining and represents employers with respect to traditional labor matters, including union representation drives, contract negotiations, contract interpretation, grievance administration, arbitrations, and unfair labor practice charges. She also trains, counsels, and guides employers on a range of issues, including employment policies and handbooks, employee discipline, investigations, terminations, disability accommodations, and leaves of absence.

Sashital received her J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan. In addition to her law practice, Gouri is a member of various professional organizations.
