McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, part of Grand Blanc’s McLaren Health Care Corp., announced Dr. Timothy Kasprzak has been named chief medical officer (CMO) of the location.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the Oakland community and McLaren system in this role,” says Kasprzak. “We look forward to addressing ongoing challenges while growing and leading health care initiatives in Oakland County and the city of Pontiac.”

A fellowship-trained oncologic diagnostic radiologist, Kasprzak assumes the position previously held by interim CMO Dr. Ronald Shaheen, who stepped in upon the retirement of longtime McLaren Oakland CMO Dr. Steve Calkin.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of all clinical services delivered within the facility, including regional facilities and specialties. He will act as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital leadership to ensure clinical quality and continued evolution.

A Michigan native, Kasprzak earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, his medical degree from Wayne State University, and completed his residency training at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn.
