Karmanos Cancer Institute Announces Two New Board Members

Geaneen Arends, attorney, vice president, and director of Butzel Long, and Sylvester Hester, chairman of the Global Automotive Alliance have been appointed to the board of The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Arends is a business attorney with over 20 years’ experience in mergers, acquisitions, and commercial real estate transactions. She has been recognized for her work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is passionate about ending cancer as she has close family battle with the disease.

Hester became chairman of the Global Automotive Alliance in 2008 and has seen sustained growth during his tenure. Both new board members will work together with existing board members to support the institute’s stated mission of leading transformative cancer care.
