James Zwolensky has joined Harley Ellis Devereaux as an associate and studio leader of the firm’s higher education design studio, based in Southfield.

Zwolensky, of Ann Arbor, has more than 25 years of experience in architectural and project leadership. Most recently, Zwolensky served as senior project manager in higher education at Stantec.

He brings a diverse portfolio to the firm with experience in all higher education projects. Zwolensky has worked on a number of key higher education projects across the nation, including a New Performing Arts Center at Grand Valley State University; the New Science and Music Buildings at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; a master plan of the Chester Fritz Library at the University of North Dakota; and the Life Sciences Institute at the University of Michigan.

He earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Business, and his Master of Architecture at the University of Michigan.
