Birmingham-based Griffin Claw Brewing Co. announced it will open an 8,000-square-foot location in Rochester Hills. The brewery, with a location in Birmingham, plans to craft new small batch, seasonal, and specialty brews at the new spot on the corner of Crooks Road and M-59.

“The craft beer community is always changing and embracing collaboration,” says Scott LePage, Griffin Claw spokesman and son of owners Norm and Bonnie LePage. The says the new location will be a teaching and training facility not only for our brewers but for customers looking to learn about the brewing process and culture.”

LePage says Griffin Claw will be moving certain aspects of its brewing to the new location, such as its bottling line. This frees up more space at the Birmingham location, where Griffin Claw is hoping to expand production.

LePage says that new equipment at the Birmingham brewery, such as fermenters with a 150-barrel capacity, will allow Griffin Claw to pump out as many as 50,000 barrels a year in Birmingham alone.

Griffin Claw’s 12,000-square-foot facility in Birmingham, brews and bottles beer such as the Grand Trunk Pilsner and Grind Line Pale Ale.
