The Giroux Pappas Law firm in Farmington Hills has hired attorney Melanie Duda, who will specialize in medical malpractice cases. She brings more than a decade of legal experience focused on medical malpractice litigation.
As part of the firm’s growth in medical malpractice litigation, Duda is expected to make significant contributions immediately, handling all types of medical malpractice cases including: birth injury, surgical errors, wrongful death, emergency room negligence, anesthesia errors, and others. She will help clients navigate some of the most difficult and complex legal matters they have ever encountered.
Duda’s education in anthropology and her experience investigating and evaluating complex medical records gives her a unique perspective when litigating medical malpractice claims. Known for her disciplined preparation, analytical approach and compassionate nature with clients she is a strong addition to the experienced medical malpractice team at Giroux Pappas.

Duda’s practice is said to be grounded in the belief that accountability matters. She approaches her cases with a methodical focus on the facts, the evidence, and medical records review to ensure that each client receives the thoughtful representation they deserve.

Duda attended Wayne State University and received a B.A. in 2003 and a M.A in 2008 in anthropology. She attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received her J.D. in 2012.
She has been admitted to practice law in all Michigan state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. She is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and the State Bar of Michigan.
