Giffels Webster, a leading multidisciplinary firm headquartered in Detroit and specializing in civil and traffic engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, planning, and GIS, has promoted three longstanding team members to partner: John Bruno, Tony Gonzalez, and Dave Root.
“We are excited to welcome John, Tony, and Dave as partners and shareholders at Giffels Webster,” says Mike Kozak, president and partner at Giffels Webster. “Their leadership, expertise, and unwavering dedication reinforce our firm’s legacy of excellence. For over 70 years, we have approached ownership transitions with strategic intent, to ensure continuity and stability for our clients and staff. This milestone is no exception—John, Tony, and Dave’s leadership will drive our firm forward while upholding our commitment to exceptional service.”
Bruno is a 27-year veteran at Giffels Webster who began his career as a survey crew chief and advanced to senior project manager. His leadership in construction staking has positioned the firm as a trusted partner for contractors throughout the region. Bruna studied civil engineering and architecture at Lawrence Technological University and resides in Lake Orion.
Gonzalez has 24 years at Giffels Webster. He also progressed from survey crew chief to senior project manager, overseeing land surveys for private and public developments across southeast Michigan. A Michigan Technological University graduate with a B.S. in land surveying, Gonzalez was a starting tight end for the football team. He lives in Sterling Heights.
Root joined Giffels Webster 18 years ago as a co-op student while earning his civil engineering degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Now a senior project manager, he specializes in private land development projects with a focus on Detroit. He resides in Rochester Hills.
As partners, the trio will continue leading projects, mentoring staff, and providing client service while taking on expanded roles in firm-wide management and strategic planning.
