WaitTime in Detroit has announced the addition of entrepreneur Steve Jbara, president and founder of NBA G-League team The Grand Rapids Drive, as its chief strategy officer.
WaitTime’s technology provides sports teams, venues, and fans with wait times for concessions, bathrooms, and merchandise stands. This information helps fans decide how to spend their time at events and helps venues provide the best crowd experiences while maximizing profits. WaitTime is currently available at venues around the world including American Airlines Arena, KeyBank Center, and Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Through his ownership of The Grand Rapids Drive team, Jbara brings sports team and front-office experience to WaitTime. Under his leadership, The Grand Rapids Drive became the first team in NBA G-League history to be profitable in its inaugural season. The team is top five in the league for sponsorship revenue and gate receipts, and No. 1 in revenue for team gear and branded items.
Jbara also started investment holding company SSJ Group LLC to invest in technology, real estate, and minor league sports teams. Through SSJ, he sold two internally grown technologies, including a social influencing product and a CO 2 recycling technology. He is also an owner of Air Co, which is a Brooklyn-based technology company and serves as COO of Jekyll and Hyde Advertising.
