Cornerstone Community Financial in Auburn Hills, a community-focused credit union with seven branches in southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio, named Robert Stier has its chief financial officer, and Gabrielle Champine vice president of brand and growth.
“Rob and Gabrielle have been with CCF just a short time, but they have truly jumped in with both feet and are already hard at work looking at ways to further maximize all we can do and be for our members,” says CCF Heidi Kassab, president and CEO of Cornerstone. “Their enthusiasm for their new roles is undeniable, and I have great optimism for all they will bring to our leadership offices, team members and customers.”
In his role as CFO, Stier is responsible for oversight of all Cornerstone budgets, financials, accounting functions, policies, and procedures. He brings to the role nearly a decade of experience in banking, financial analysis, and management, including his most recent role as vice president of finance at Parda Credit Union in Auburn Hills. Stier’s resume also includes roles as a senior financial analyst for Henry Ford Health System, and as a finance specialist at Credit Union One.
A Michigan native, Stier is a graduate of Michigan State University’s Eli Broad School of Business in East Lansing and earned his MBA from Walsh College in Troy. Outside of the office, Stier volunteers his financial expertise to the Troy Cooperative Preschool as treasurer of its board of directors. He and his family reside in Shelby Township.
Champine is responsible for leading Cornerstone’s brand, marketing and advertising strategies and processes, with emphasis on strengthening the institution’s connection to the communities it serves.
Prior to joining the Cornerstone team, Champine, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Kettering University in Flint, spent more than five years leading client teams as an agency account director, most recently for KORTX in Berkley, and prior to that at Brogan & Partners, now in Ferndale.
Champine, a native Michigander and current resident of Grand Blanc, and has a history of hands-on volunteerism, including her current work with Children’s Hospital of Michigan and years of service to Hillsdale Community Health Center and the YMCA.
