Coherix Adds New Board Member

James K. West has been named a member of the board of directors for Ann Arbor-based Coherix Inc., a global manufacturer of 3-D machine vision products.

West, of South Lyon, is an industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience commercializing machine vision, robotics, and 3-D measurement products, will be responsible for helping expand the use of its technology solutions into manufacturing processes for Coherix.

West co-founded Perceptron, and served as CTO at FARO Technologies, vice president of engineering at SMX and founder of the Technology Consulting Network. In addition, West is the founder and past president of The Machine Vision Association and former director of both Robotics International and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

West earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and his Master of Science in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois.
