Christina Drake has joined Ann Arbor’s Renaissance Venture Capital as a principal, where she will manage the connections between major Michigan companies, venture funds across the U.S., and Michigan-based startups.

Drake previously spent six years as a vice president and investment adviser at FEG Investment Advisors in Cincinnati, managing discretionary endowment and foundation-client relationships with $6.5 billion in assets under management. She founded the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and women’s employee resource group.

Prior to that, Drake spent seven years at Bridgewater Associates, one of the largest hedge funds in the world. She is a graduate of Butler University.

“Christina’s enthusiasm and experience will be a big plus to the state’s innovation community,” says Chris Rizik, founder and CEO of Renaissance Venture Capital. “Michigan is on a great trajectory of entrepreneurship, and Christina will help Renaissance connect these Michigan companies with both the country’s investment community and major Michigan companies looking for innovation partners.”

Drake is helping to organize the upcoming virtual DEI UnDemo Day on May 9, hosted by Renaissance Venture Capital. UnDemo Day is designed exclusively to attract national venture capital to diverse founders. The virtual event will highlight companies from the Midwest and central U.S. led by women, veterans, people of color, and other underrepresented communities.
