Uzautosanoat JSC, a government owned automotive company in Uzbekistan that produces Chevrolet passenger vehicles under a technical license agreement with General Motors Co. in Detroit, announced Bo Andersson as the CEO of its two largest subsidiaries, Uzauto Motors and Uzauto Motors Powertrain.

Andersson began his career in 1987 with Saab Automobile, GAZ Group, AvtoVAZ, and Yazaki. In the instances of the GAZ Group and AvtoVAZ, he brought the companies from operating at a loss to operating at a stable profit.

Andersson was named the “Best Leader of the Year 2010” in the Russian automotive industry at the Adam Smith International Automobile Forum. In 2011 he was recognized as the best leader in European automotive industry in the “emerging markets” category at the Eurostars Awards hosted by Automotive News Europe.

Uzauto Motors began a major transformation process in 2018 with the goal of turning its losses into profit. The company says Andersson’s past success in this area puts the automaker in position to overcome the semiconductor shortage and logistics issues to achieve this goal.
