Altair in Troy Names Jeff Marraccini Chief Information Security Officer

Altair, a computational science and artificial intelligence company based in Troy, announced that Jeff Marraccini has been named chief information security officer.

In this role he is responsible for the strategy and the implementation of Altair’s global security programs across all functions, including Altair’s DevOps center of excellence, IT, legal, and services.

“Security is a critical component to any organization, and Jeff has the leadership qualities and technical skills to keep Altair and our customers secure,” says James Scapa, co-founder and CEO of Altair. “In addition to his experience and expertise, Jeff embodies the spirit of Altair’s mission, values, and culture. He will be an invaluable asset in this leadership role.”

Prior to this role Marraccini served as Altair’s senior vice president of cloud strategy and technology, where he focused on technical compliance, security controls, tools, cloud specialties, and security vendor operations. In his 25 years at Altair, he has also held other leadership roles focused on IT, computer systems, network systems, and technology security.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, and anthropology from Oakland University in Rochester, and is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the IEEE Computer Society, and is on the boards of the nonprofit entities Friends of the Troy Public Library and Judson Center.
