Velocity, a Macomb County business incubator and accelerator, is teaming up with the city of Sterling Heights to launch SizeUp Sterling Heights, a free online tool that provides local entrepreneurs with business intelligence and market research.
The software, accessible through Velocity’s website, is designed to help level the competitive playing field by providing businesses with data that is typically only available to large corporations, often through expensive multinational consulting firms or in-house research analysts.
“In today’s digital and information economy, if you don’t have access to intelligence, your business is at a significant disadvantage,” says Paula Macpherson, executive director of Velocity. “With the launch of SizeUp Sterling Heights on the Velocity website, we are empowering businesses in Sterling Heights and Macomb County to make more data-driven decisions that will help them operate, grow, and succeed.”
SizeUp uses big data, cloud computing, and advanced algorithms to deliver customized analysis for local businesses. The data is sourced from hundreds of public and proprietary databases, covering firmographics, demographics, geography, labor, wages, costs, consumer spending, transportation, and more.
The service is completely free for local businesses and available anytime through the Velocity website here.
