Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn has begun shipping 2024 E-Transit electric vans to customers across the United States.
Serving more industries than any other electric van, E-Transit — now with an enhanced range version — is expected to serve even more industry use cases. Among the possibilities are refrigerated delivery, thanks to added capability including up to 32 percent more range (up to 159 miles on a single charge), faster charge times thanks to the new dual onboard chargers, and 2.4 kW of Pro Power Onboard, now operable while the vehicle is in motion.
Among the vehicle’s key features are:
Enhanced-Range Battery: Enhanced range capability provides an estimated range of up to 159 miles with 89 kWh of usable energy, supporting work over longer distances and more capability for new use cases, like refrigerated delivery.
Power and Torque: Maintaining robust performance with 266 hp and 317 lb.-ft. of torque.
Cutting-Edge Charging Capabilities: Now featuring dual onboard chargers delivering a charge time that’s 22 percent faster than before when using Ford Pro’s 80A Series 2 charger and available Ford Pro charging software to help identify the best times to charge and more.
Smart Technology: Available E-Telematics helps fleets optimize vehicle performance with remote commands and controls, in-vehicle driver assist features like Standard Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with AEB, and high-resolution cameras can help to enhance safety and driver confidence.
Available Incentives: E-Transit qualifies for the federal $7,500 Commercial Clean Vehicle Tax Credit, as well as other state and local incentives.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership: E-Transit helps fleets reduce their total cost of ownership, championed as the Best Fleet Value in America in its category by Vincentric for the third consecutive year thanks to reduced fuel, maintenance and operating costs.
Supporting U.S EV Manufacturing: E-Transit is assembled at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri. Rawsonville Components Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan produces the E-Transit new enhanced range battery.
Sustainability Powerhouse: E-Transit has saved more than 3 million gallons of gas and reduced CO2 emissions by more than 25 million kilograms, the equivalent of planting 413,377 tree seedlings and letting them grow for 10 years.
Dominating Electric Van Sales: In Q2, E-Transit had its best quarterly sales since its debut in 2022, breaking the same record it set in Q1.
This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Transit in the United States. Since beginning U.S. production in April 2014, more than 1.2 million Transit vans have been assembled at KCAP, and 99 percent of them are still on the road today.
