The Virtual Dialysis Support Center (VDSV) in Detroit, founded in 2016, is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to improve the quality of life for dialysis and transplant patients, as well as caregivers. The nonprofit provides one-on-one peer mentoring, preventive health education, suicide prevention certification, support group activities, essential items (when possible), and resource guidance. VDSC’s goal is to help patients thrive on dialysis. For the community, the aim is to educate and inform, as well as to prevent kidney failure.
