The John A. and Marlene L. Boll Foundation was created in the 1980s to steward the resources of the family to organizations that give back to the community. John, a construction worker, and Marlene, a dancer, focused the St. Clair Shores-based foundation to offer moral and spiritual support, education, and community enrichment. The faith-based foundation recently supported the creation of the John and Marlene Boll Campus Center, a 30,200-square-foot athletics facility, at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods through a $4.25 million donation to Liggett’s Sure Foundations campaign. The foundation has also financially assisted Christian ministries with youth camps and religious education.
