Special Olympics Michigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Mt. Pleasant that seeks to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization serves more than 23,000 athletes in 24 sports with nearly 3,000 certified coaches, including six state-level competitions, four district basketball tournaments, and more than 700 local and regional competitions statewide.
