The Federation of Youth Services (FYS) in Detroit is a 501(c)(3) agency that works to empower youth, age 16-20, who are transitioning out of foster care and moving toward independence. Many have experienced sexual and physical abuse, neglect, and homelessness. The organization provides staff-supported housing programs, life skills, educational and mental health support, and employment assistance. The mission of the FYS is to inspire and empower youth in the community to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
