“Detroit: The City of Hot Rods and Muscle Cars” Premiere
A new documentary, “Detroit: The City of Hot Rods and Muscle Cars,” had its premiere on June 19 at the Emagine Theater complex in Novi. The film is a historical tribute to Detroit’s past, present, and future car culture, and takes viewers back in time to understand how Detroit affected the American hot rod and muscle car era. The documentary also explores the Motor City’s role today with “gearhead” car aficionados. Produced by Keith Famie and his team at Visionalist Entertainment Productions in Wixom, the film features comments from celebrities such as comedian Tim Allen, designer Chip Foose, radio personalities JoAnne Purtan and Jim Johnson, who talked about the days of classic muscle cars and street racing, along with veterans of the Vietnam War. // Photographs by Patrick Gloria
