The mission of the Detroit Education Society is to provide supplemental education to students living in financially distressed communities, and help them achieve their best potential in education. The nonprofit organization was founded by metro Detroit-based professionals from India in 2013. It promotes education in the city of Detroit, provides supplemental education to students with the help of IT technology, and one-to-one online tutoring in STEM and English by high school students. The program has been implemented at Carleton Elementary School, Kornerstone Charter Schools, and Health and Technology High School.
