The Denso North America Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Denso, which is headquartered in Southfield. Founded in 2001, the foundation seeks to help advance engineering, technology, and other related education among students. The foundation mainly provides support to colleges and universities throughout North America to support education that leads to the development of a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. In addition to higher education, the foundation gives manufacturing grants to help get students interested in manufacturing and skilled trades. Collegiate clubs focused on manufacturing and engineering can also apply for grants. The foundation gives natural disaster relief grants through the American Red Cross to support the communities in which Denso operates during times of need.
