Founded in 2010, the Congress of Communities is an organization that provides leadership and facilitates the collaboration of residents, youth, and stakeholders to improve the community of Southwest Detroit. It offers a variety of programs including a youth council, Taking Action por Nuestros Niños (for our children) (TANN), early childhood programs, and anti-gentrification efforts in five Detroit neighborhoods, including Hubbard Farms, Hubbard Richard, Mexicantown, Corktown, and North Corktown. In summer 2020, the organization began the renovation on a youth-driven community center, which includes work on the foundation and the rook, along with interior demolition.
