Established in 1974, AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services in Southfield (formerly Area Agency on Aging 1-B) has a history of supporting older adults, people with disabilities, and family caregivers in southeast Michigan. AgeWays’ mission is to help people access the services and programs they need to remain living independently and with dignity in their own home or with family caregivers, whether that’s a few hours of in-home care each week, respite care, or home-delivered meals. AgeWays receives federal and state funding to serve older adults and family caregivers in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Washtenaw counties. It offers many services directly, while also partnering with other community organizations in the delivery of services.
